A Journey Through a Kaggle Competition

Abstract
I will present our journey through the Salt segmentation competition in 2018 (https://www.kaggle.com/competitions/tgs-salt-identification-challenge/). Several areas of Earth with large accumulations of oil and gas also have huge deposits of salt below the surface. That is the reason why people want to segment the salt area. We participated in the competition with a team of six people (Zung, Hang, Dat, Phuong, Hieu and myself). Even though at that time we had very limited resources (one 7 Gb GPU + one 12 Gb GPU + free 8Gb GPU from Kaggle), the experience was very fun, and I would like to share it with you in the talk.
